WHETHER Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga, Pixie Lott or Glee. This is the chance for budding school stars to impress their class.
This Saturday, Birmingham-based community station - 89.1FM Big City Radio - will launch the search to find talented youngsters (aged 5 to 16) who attend schools in Birmingham as part of its new 'School Stars' competition.
Darren Yates will present the search throughout the year as part of his popular show, which broadcasts live every Saturday between 10am - 2pm.
Budding stars will get the chance to perform live in the studio, with all performances being made available to download shortly after from the Big City Radio website.
Some of the most promising stars will then be invited to perform on stage at Star City, one of Birmingham's most popular entertainment venues, and home to Big City Radio. One lucky performer will also be crowned 'Big City’s Young Entertainer of the Year' and will get the chance to cut tracks at a top recording studio.
The winning single will receive airplay on Big City Radio and will also be made available to download for charity.
Station owner Muff Murfin said:
"This competition will be open to youngsters who attend schools in Birmingham. It will be a fantastic platform for local talent to show off their talent, with the unique chance of recording a charity single. We will also be approaching schools throughout Birmingham to identify potential stars".
If you think you have what it takes to audition, tune in and listen to 89.1FM Big City Radio on Saturday, from 10am. Alternatively, drop Darren an email - [email protected].
