Steve Evans
Steve was born in Birmingham on the 11th September 1961 and has lived there more or less all his life - except for a couple of years in the 90's when he decided to head down to Newquay, Cornwall - growing up in Small Heath and Bordesley Green. He has always had an interest in radio, working at radio stations around the region, as well as hosting many Roadshows. For many years he was a volunteer at Radio Lollipop.
A claim to fame that Steve often talks about is that he danced on stage with Tina Charles, we think this is something though, that Tina Charles would never talk about. Steve's other claim to fame is that when he was just a mere 14 years old, he set a Tricky Test Time competition question on TISWAS - we are led to believe that Steve was ONLY 14 when TISWAS was on the tele. So Steve was actually pulled up by the ears from under the TISWAS desk by Chris Tarrant - good old Saturday morning kid's TV....Steve would have gone on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, but he didn't think Chris Tarrant would allow the Phantom Flan Flinger in the studio this time....
Steve also enjoys playing Table-Tennis, something he doesn't get much chance to do very often these days, but if anyone's got a spare table, he'll be there....
Steve has also worked at Youth Clubs and school holiday Playschemes - ah, so that's where he found he enjoyed playing Table-Tennis!!!!????. He has been a Big City Radio listener for a number of years, loves the interaction with the listeners and he’s now overjoyed to be part of the Team.
Steve has a wide range of tastes in music and has always been an early riser, so The Saturday Breakfast Show is ideal.
Steve also sits in from time to time during the week, when the other presenters aren't looking and can also be heard every Monday and Saturday night playing some great classic hits and looking at headlines from this week in years gone by....
